The Southern District Reports’ (SDR) staff of 30 reporters works in the busiest federal courthouse in the country. If you ever sat in a courtroom, you have probably marveled at the speed in which reporters can record every spoken word from fast-talking lawyers, plaintiffs, and defendants. Outside the courtroom was a different story.
For years, SDR had operated their business at very high capacity without many of the benefits of current modern computing technology. Many of their internal business processes still relied on carbon paper forms and multi-step workflow, especially when it came to transcript orders and billing.
SDR retained BraveLine Technology to conduct a full business analysis of their facilities and to come up with a computer-based alternative to manual processing.
Today, the Transcript Management System (TMS) manages all of SDR’s transcript logging and ordering processes complete from transcription to order fulfillment. As a result, speed and efficiency can be found not only in courtroom, but the SDR offices as well.
